Elysian Park (2017 - Current)

Elysian Park is one of the largest green spaces in Los Angeles at 600 acres. It is also the city’s oldest, founded in 1886. Exotic species of eucalyptus, deodar cedar and Mexican palms line the ridges and canyons of the park. The trees are all dying. The park has recently been deemed a “zombie forest” due to amount of dead trees and vegetation, caused by the drought but also the parks broken irrigation system which has long sustained the groves of exotic trees.

This series of photographs was started in 2017 and currently in progress.
